This display shows a part of the Batte of Ligny (june 1815). The 5. Prussian Brigade standing on the exterm right flank of prussian army has been ordered to take the small village Wagnele, before french troops arrive there. But different units of french light infantry have settled down there some minutes before the prussian started their march over the open fields to reach the village. The prussian units (2. Inf-Regt [1. Pommerian], 25. Inf-Regt, 5. Westfalian Landwehr-Inf-Regt) therefore suverred heavy losses during this attack.
